Complete Decca wood setup
If you work with classical film music or general orchestral and choir recording, here is the ultimate package with the combination of three classic Ela M260 microphones combined with a Decca wood setup.
The Decca tree was developed for recording classical music for Decca Records in the 1950s, where they wanted a strong stereo image coupled with mono recording’s ability to focus and thus balance the recording.
The technique involves an inverted “T” placed over the conductor’s head with the two stereo microphones placed behind the conductor and the mono microphone in front.
Ela M260
The Ela M260 pencil tube microphone is without a doubt one of the industry’s finest microphones for acoustic and classical recording.
The compact microphone has exceptional detail, clarity and depth that captures every nuance of music and performance. Developed in the late 1950s for the legendary Ela M251/250 series, the Ela M260 quickly became known as one of the absolute best microphones for classical recording. The Ela M series was created in collaboration with AKG to replace Neumann-produced models in Telefunken’s range.
Ela M260 Tri-Mono comes with three types of capsules, TK60 – Kidney, TK61 – Ball and finally TK-62 Super Kidney, which provides great session flexibility.
The Ela M260 is equipped with a NOS EF-732/5840W tube and a custom out-put transformer, which together with the rest of the construction makes this microphone sound so good.
The Ela M260 comes complete with 3-channel power supply, three 10-meter M801 tube microphone cables, shock mounts and wooden storage box.
