Telefunken C12 high-end tube microphone
A true legend
If you could talk about a microphone that epitomizes classic, hi-fi sound, it would be the Austrian-designed C12.
The C12 was originally developed by AKG in 1953 and appreciated for its airy frequency response. The design of the C12 was unique in its technology. The ability to change the characteristics between cardioid, omnidirectional and figure-8 characteristics (and six intermediate patterns) from the power supply made the C12 the most flexible large-diaphragm tube microphone of its time. Sweared by many and is therefore still found in countless studios around the world.
