With Universal Audio’s Bock 187 large-diaphragm FET condenser microphone, you get the classic sound of the legendary U87 but with modern audio improvements. All microphones are hand-built in California to world-famous microphone designer David Bock’s specifications. Vintage U87 microphones are known for their nice top but can become shrill when pressed. The Bock 187 has improved upon the original design with a larger transformer, improved circuitry and a new “fat” setting which provides a suitable boost between 10 and 400 Hz. The result is a larger dynamic range and a fuller sound on vocals, guitar etc.
