Inspired by the summing section of API’s renowned THE BOX® console, the ASM164 is designed to deliver world-class summing performance for home studios, professional project rooms, and commercial production environments.

Built on API’s legendary discrete analog architecture, the ASM164 features proprietary API 2510 input op amps, 2520 output op amps, and transformer-balanced outputs, ensuring your mixes benefit from the punch, warmth, and clarity that define the API sound. With 16 balanced line-level inputs via DB-25 connectors, the ASM164 offers a versatile front-end for hybrid mixing workflows.

Flexible Summing with Dual Mix Buses

Each of the 16 channels can be assigned to Mix-A, Mix-B, or both, allowing flexible routing and parallel processing. Every channel includes a continuously variable pan control (with center detent), 31-step detented level control, and insert send/return for integrating outboard gear. The global 0dB bypass enables a direct unity-gain mix for reference or recall-friendly setups.

Additional features include a balanced stereo external input assignable to either mix bus, 4-segment LED meters for each channel, and high-quality VU metering on the stereo outputs. The ASM164 offers comprehensive rear-panel connectivity and is powered by an external supply for reduced noise and increased reliability.
