The first portable 1073 Mic Pre, the 1073 DMP, is equipped with the same preamp and the same Carnhill (St Ives) transformers as the 1073 and 1084. All units come standard with the ‘Bootsy Collins mod,’ which includes a Jensen DI transformer to add high-impedance DI to the 1073 DMP. The 1073 DMP features a built-in PSU and the same hand-wired modular design that BAE is known for. The 1073 is a popular little box, as evidenced by the long list of renowned artists who use it, including Slash, Vance Powell, Chris ‘Frenchie’ Smith, Timo Kielnecker (G Love), Chris Chaney (Alanis Morissette, Jane’s Addiction), Warren Haynes, Bootsy Collins, Snoop Dogg, Matt Sorum, Huw Williams, Dave Weiner, Derek Trucks, Oteil Burbridge, Jackie Greene, The Chris Robinson Brotherhood, Charles Twilling, Bobby Vega, and Rafael Moreira.
