The EMI TG12345 mixer used on the recordings of The Beatles and Pink Floyd and a host of other legendary bands is known and loved for its musicality and universal usability. Therefore, it is still used for the critical mastering tasks in Abbey Road. The new reproduction of EMI’s Zener compressor/limiter continues in a straight line EMI’s tradition of building its own solutions, a trend which started in 1951 – 1956 with the RS56/RS114. The RS56 Eq was nicknamed “the Curve bender” by EMI’s designers and it stuck in the following years with the TG12345 in 1968, and the TG12412 in 1974. The Chandler Zener Limiter takes the legendary musical TG12345 compression and limiting into the 21st century. century with the features expected today of a high-end compressor for professional use.
