With Universal Audio's Bock 187 large-diaphragm FET condenser microphone, you get the classic sound of the legendary U87 but with modern sonic improvements. All microphones are hand-built in California to world-famous microphone designer David Bock's specifications. Vintage U87 microphones are known for their beautiful top end but can become shrill when pressed. The Bock 187 has improved on the original design with a larger transformer, improved circuitry and a new “fat” setting that provides an appropriate boost between 10 and 400 Hz. The result is a wider dynamic range and a fuller sound on vocals, guitar and more.
