The Moog DFAM (Drummer From Another Mother) is a semi-modular analog percussion synthesizer designed to create powerful, evolving drum patterns and rhythmic textures. Developed by Moog, DFAM delivers the unmistakable warmth and punch of true analog synthesis combined with hands-on sequencing and patchable flexibility.
At the heart of DFAM are two analog oscillators and a white noise generator, feeding into the classic Moog ladder filter. This architecture allows the creation of deep kicks, sharp snares, metallic hits, and experimental percussive textures. The onboard 8-step analog sequencer provides direct control over pitch and velocity per step, making it easy to build dynamic, evolving rhythmic patterns.
DFAM’s semi-modular design requires no patching to begin creating sound, yet offers extensive patch points for deeper experimentation and integration into modular or Eurorack systems. Its intuitive knob-per-function layout encourages immediate creativity and hands-on performance control.
