The Moog Subharmonicon is a semi-modular analog polyrhythmic synthesizer that explores the world of subharmonics and complex rhythmic sequencing. Developed by Moog Music, the Subharmonicon blends classic Moog analog tone with innovative sequencing concepts inspired by early electronic music pioneers.

At its core, the Subharmonicon features two analog VCOs, each paired with two subharmonic oscillators. This unique architecture allows the creation of rich, harmonically layered sounds derived from mathematically related frequency divisions. Combined with two 4-step sequencers and four rhythm generators, the instrument excels at producing evolving polyrhythms, harmonic textures, and experimental melodic patterns.

The classic Moog ladder low-pass filter shapes the sound with warmth and character, while the semi-modular patchbay offers extensive routing possibilities. No patching is required to begin creating sound, but advanced users can integrate the Subharmonicon into Eurorack systems or larger modular setups for expanded creative control.
