R-121 Studio Ribbon Microphone – the standard among ribbon microphones. The Royer 121 came on the market back in 1998, and is today a studio standard within ribbon microphones. It is a favorite for recording electric guitar or brass, but its special sound is widely used for recording e.g. vocals and acoustic guitar. The award-winning R-121 is Royer’s flagship microphone; The world’s first radically re-engineered ribbon microphone, reintroducing ribbon microphones to studios around the world. Royer removed all the awkwardness and fragility that characterized “classic” ribbon microphones, and went in a completely new direction.
