API Select SV14 4-Band Parametric Equalizer – 500 Series
The API Select SV14 is a powerful and musical 4-band parametric equalizer in the 500 Series format, based on the classic APSI 562 EQ circuit from the 1970s and 1980s. Faithfully re-engineered and modernized by API, the SV14 delivers flexible, precision tone shaping with the warmth, headroom, and analog character that API is known for — all at an accessible price point.
Each of the four fully parametric bands offers continuously variable control of both frequency and gain, with up to ±12 dB of boost or cut per band. All bands are configured in a peak/dip (bell) filter design, making the SV14 ideal for a wide range of tonal tasks — from subtle mix enhancement to corrective EQ duties on individual tracks or buses.
Equipped with dual concentric knobs for frequency and gain, the SV14 offers smooth and intuitive control, while an EQ in/out switch allows for easy bypass and direct A/B comparisons. At the output stage, a custom transformer-balanced output provides analog depth and clarity, with a +24 dB clip level for high-headroom operation.
Designed to fit all standard API 500 Series racks and lunchboxes®, the SV14 brings vintage API EQ heritage into modern workflows with surgical precision and unmistakable analog tone.
